Reduce Product Adhesion

Reduce Product Adhesion

reduce project adhesionImproved microfinishes that are achieved by electropolishing and/or mechanical polishing do more than improve the appearance of a part. The polishing process can deliver improved non-stick properties, lower the coefficient of friction, reduce real surface area, and will allow for easier sanitation. Reduced adhesion can significantly reduce product or contamination build up and greatly lengthen duty cycles. When cleaning is necessary, cleaning operations can be completed in less time and with less effort.

The Harrison Electropolishing C-75 procedure was specifically developed for industrial applications where product buildup is a concern. We have successfully utilized our polishing processes to reduce product adhesion on a wide range of equipment including:

  • Vessels
  • Reactors
  • Valves
  • Pumps
  • Screw Conveyors
  • Rotor Valves
  • Check Valves
  • Troughs
  • Chutes
  • Hoppers
  • Piping
  • Fittings

Electropolishing is an electrochemical process by which surface material is removed by anodic dissolution. Electropolishing removes surface material, beginning with the high points within the microscopic surface texture. By removing these points, the electropolishing process will improve the surface finish of a metal such as stainless steel, nickel, and Hastelloy, leaving a smoother and more reflective surface. Common parts and components electropolished include tanks, piping, fittings, rods, discs, large parts & surfaces, and more.
